You&#039;re right--time is a human artifice. It isn&#039;t about marking time--it&#039;s about marking what&#039;s happened, what&#039;s been done, what&#039;s changed. I suppose if everybody wants to hold up that date, 13.0.0.0.0, as a yardstick and use it to see how far we&#039;ve come and how far we have to go, that&#039;s fine--maybe it&#039;ll even be good for us. But we shouldn&#039;t be thinking of the yardstick as the point of it all.</description>

		<description>thank you for relieving my fears about xx:xii.  john lear supports that.  one year is the same as another, except that humans get crazier.  the calendar is a human invention, which is an extension of the clock.  the 12-inch ruler is a human invention to help us talk about size and distance.  the clock is a human invention to help us talk about  movement, growth and other processes.  we did not invent the clock to measure time but to compare movements and processes.  time is merely the word we use to refer to that process of comparing movements, etc.  the fact our clocks are always on is just to save us the inconvenience of winding a clock on every occasion we need to clock something.</description>
