Potentially Futuristic?

I got another call from the Writers of the Future admin lady last week. I did not win First, Second, or Third Place among the eight Finalists selected in February. Matt Rotundo, a fellow Odyssey grad, won First Place, so congratulations to him! The admin lady did ask if they could hold onto my story for possible inclusion in the annual anthology as a Published Finalist. It will be a while until they make that decision, but I’m happy to have them consider my story.

    And…I am currently in Barcelona, Spain, where I have discovered a stash of WOTF anthologies (multiple copies from each year) in an English-language used bookstore called Hibernian Books. So, if you are in the anthology alongside Matt, you will probably be available to some science-fiction-story-starved reader of English in Barcelona. Which is kind of cool.

    The WOTF blog shows pictures of servicemen in Iraq reading the 2007 antho. That’s a market I don’t think most SF/F magazines are currently taping. :) It is very cool that their reach is so wide.
